Josh Muir is a contemporary artist with a distinctive street art aesthetic. His brightly coloured and multi-layered works embody the wonder of possibility. Muir’s kaleidoscopic works, inspired by hip-hop and references from his youth, explore his personal story, capturing fragments of struggles and moments of joy. Ultimately, they are reflection of Josh’s past and his aspirations for the future.

I look around I see empires built on aboriginal land, I cannot physically change or shift this, though I can make the most of my culture in a contemporary setting and my art projects reflect my journey.” – Josh Muir
Josh Muir has been awarded numerous regional, national and international art prizes, awards and artist residencies. Josh has completed a diverse range of private and public commissions most notable being his recent work for the Australian Pavilion, at the World Expo in Dubai. His work has been exhibited nationally and is held in significant public and private collections across Australia.
